We are absolutely delighted to announce that our seed-stage carbon fiber 3D printing startup, Fibyr, has been awarded Concordia University’s Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science $10,000 Innovation Fund. This fund also includes the potential to apply for a second phase of additional funding ($50,000) in Fall 2023.
This fund aims to support innovative student-led projects that have significant potential for commercialization - and we are beyond thankful for Concordia University's generosity and recognition of our ambition! A big thank you to Ali Akgunduz, Associate Dean of Academic Programs and Undergraduate Activities, Emad Shihab, Associate Dean of Research and Innovation, and the rest of the committee for setting up this amazing initiative and for believing in us. This is truly a milestone moment for Fibyr, and we couldn't be more thrilled!
At Fibyr, we are on a mission to bring the world of carbon fiber 3D printing closer to the masses. Our technology will dramatically improve part strength and materials costs for high-end products produced in carbon fiber. We believe that this technology will have a major impact on the manufacturing industry and contribute significantly to the economy.
As we continue to make progress toward our goal, this award will provide us with the resources necessary to take our project to an entirely new level. The GCS Innovation team's invaluable support will help us develop more extensive prototypes, purchase the necessary materials and equipment, and increase our testing capabilities.
We are also extremely excited about exploring potential collaboration and mentorship opportunities with Concordia University, leveraging their expertise in engineering and computer science.
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude towards everyone who has supported us during this incredible journey thus far! We look forward to continuing to grow together as we strive to build a sustainable future through innovative 3D printing technologies.
Keep in touch with us to read all about our exciting updates as our journey unfolds!
